All breed dog grooming. Specializing in hand scissoring. All staff goes through specialty training to handle difficult and aggressive dogs, and also have extensive experience with rescue dogs. Muzzle free enviroment. All groomers and fluffer bathers on staff have 6 years plus experience grooming and 13 years plus working with animals whether training, rehabilitating or general care. Our staff is the best at making your family member feel comfortable with their gentle and caring touch and are very knowledgeable in all aspects of your furry friend.We welcome you to come in at any time during business hours to meet our reputable staff members.We also welcome walk in nail clippings all day and baths only (including ear cleaning,nail trimming,and proper brushing and shedding required no hair is cut) from 10am to 3pm tuesday thru thursday. All haircuts are by appointment.Any grooming including baths are highly suggested for Fridays and Saturdays as those are the busiest days during the week and walk ins may not be accomodated on those days due to volume.Our business hours are Tuesday-Friday 9am-530pm and Saturday from 830am-5pm.

  “most of the information on this page about this business is not correct--all employees have over 25 years experience they do not take any walkins(for any services), appointments are booked a week in advance- the last apt of the day is between 1pm-3pm-they close when the last dog goes home so no specific time. They open at 830 am tuesday-saturday-”

  “I was introduced to Soapy Dog while volunteering at New York Bully Crew, I brought one of the rescues there for a medicated bath totally expecting and willing to pay. Jenn the owner would not take any money from me and offered for me to bring him in every other week for a medicated bath to treat his skin condition at no charge. She told me just to pay it forward. Jenn treated him like he was one of her own. I later learned that Jenn fosters many dogs at her home and this made me realize taking care of dogs is more than a business to her it is her passion and that's why she is so good at what she does! I was so impressed with their service and concern for the dogs that I now bring my own dog there for grooming. I feel they are well worth the ride from Sayville to Huntington Station. My Jack Russell/Cairn Terrier has never looked better! They also care about your dog's health and she let me know that he had some lumps that we got checked and they ended up being fine but my other groomer had never even commented on them. I highly recommend The Soapy Dog! I have never been so happy with a groomer!”

  “The owner Jen has groomed my girls-
  4 Sheltland Sheedogs for over 12 years. My oldest has been with her since she was a pup, and is is almost 13. The Soapy dog does not just do the regular wash/clip, if my girls have a bump, scratch or anything not right, they alert me. If their skin is dry they know right away they need a special shampoo. I depend on them for being my eyes and ears for things I dont catch. They are outstanding. The whole staff is accomodating, respectful and very konwlegeable about dogs. One of my dogs has severe crimpling arthritis. They are so kind and gentle with her. I wish I had a place to go like this for humans.”

  “I have a 70 lb pit bull who is afraid of water. Most groomers you see just deal with small dogs and even sell dogs in their store. These guys promote rescue and didn't blink twice about taking care of my boy. He is so scared but they are always great with him and he looks wonderful.”

  “I am very particular about the shops I will bring my 120lb Rottie and my 60lb Pittie to. They can be a handful. The staff is friendly and extremely professional. My kids instantly took a liking to the staff! (rare) They are very knowledgeable in both of the breeds. After a visit to The Soapy Dog my dogs were ready for a night on the town! Not only were they ready, they also informed me that my Rottie had an ear infection! Poor boy, I had no idea! The owner Jennifer gave me (for free mind you) an ear cleaner, advised how to apply the remedy, and recommended me to a local vet for a follow up. Upon a scheduled appointment with Dix Hills Animal Hospital, Dr.Rhein prescribed meds and spoke very highly of The Soapy Dog. They have found a loyal customer! Can't say enough!”

  “I only bring my dog here for getting nails cut, he's a short-haired breed (MinPin), so he never needs grooming other than that. We've been everywhere for him, and I must say this place is phenomenal. They are extremely experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to dog handling. Every time I go in there, the place is loaded with dogs and their staff is very busy. They treat the dogs like gold. They are the friendliest people I have ever come across in this business, and have very good prices. Highly recommended.”

  “Called for an appointment and to be sure they were confident they could handle my Big Boy. Jen the owner said bring him in, no problem. Upon entering the shop I could tell immediately that these girls were experienced and comfortable around large breeds. My guy took to the girls immediately which is VERY unusual for him. A short time later we were on our way home after a nice bath, blow dry, nails clipped, ears cleaned and whatever else they do, all with no problems and at a very reasonable cost. The ladies here are very professional and personable and caring with no stress to my guy a difficult task when you are trying to take care of him. He is a 155lb. Cane Corso. Thanks ladies your the best..Highly recommended!!!”
